The summer league of North America’s professional 3-on-3 hockey concluded on Saturday, showcasing some of the most captivating moments in the sport.

The second season of 3ICE reached its finale as Team Murphy clinched victory, securing the Patrick Cup with a thrilling 2-1 shootout triumph over Team Patrick at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.

A standout performance by Hank Crone elevated Team Murphy to their triumph, with Crone not only contributing a regulation goal but also netting the decisive shootout-winning goal. Meanwhile, Brandon Pirri, boasting NHL experience with 276 games, found the net for Team Patrick, though their efforts fell short. Adding to the accolades, Larry Murphy, an esteemed NHL legend and Hockey Hall of Famer, guided Team Murphy and was honored as the 3ICE Coach of the Year.

In the title-clinching pursuit, Eamon McAdam, celebrated as 3ICE’s premier goaltender, proved instrumental. The former third-round pick of the New York Islanders, McAdam’s journey saw him in the AHL and ECHL before heading to Europe in 2021. His adept goaltending prowess played a pivotal role in Team Murphy’s championship achievement.

Hank Crone’s achievements extended beyond the 3ICE league, enhancing his trophy collection. Earlier, Crone had dominated the ECHL, leading the scoring charts with an impressive 105 points in 69 games for the Allen Americans. His remarkable performance earned him both the ECHL’s MVP award and the title of rookie of the year.

Continuing his triumphant streak, Crone excelled in the 3ICE league, sharing the league’s top scorer honors with Pirri, amassing an impressive 14 goals and 18 points across eight games. Furthermore, his outstanding contributions led to him being crowned the league’s MVP.
